Chronos
χρόνος
Measured time. The hours in a row, each one with a rate. It is what the timer counts and what the ledger keeps, and it is honest work to track it well.
καιρός · the opportune moment
The Greeks had two words for time. Chronos is the hours you track. Kairos is the moment you send the invoice. Kairos is a calm timer, your clients and projects, and invoices built from the time you haven’t billed yet.

Why the name
Chronos
χρόνος
Measured time. The hours in a row, each one with a rate. It is what the timer counts and what the ledger keeps, and it is honest work to track it well.
Kairos
καιρός
The right moment. The sculptor Lysippos gave him a lock of hair in front and nothing behind: grab him as he comes, because he can’t be caught once he’s passed. Sending the invoice is that moment. This is the app that makes sure you catch it.
The work bell
In the cloth towns of the 1300s a bell rang the working day open and shut: the first clock that answered to merchants instead of the church. Yours is a button. Pick a project, press start, write a line about it when you stop. Or ring it from any tab with the Chrome extension.
Stock and foil
For seven centuries a debt was a notched stick split down its length. The lender kept the stock, the borrower the foil, and only the two halves together settled it. An invoice is the same promise. Tick the entries, build it, print it or mirror it to Stripe.
The sundial
A sundial only counts the hours the sun saw. Connect Google Calendar and yesterday’s meetings show up as suggestions, so the hour in the shade still makes it onto the invoice. One click turns each into an entry.
The ledger
One book, many hands. Invite people, see who is on what, and plan hours per project per week. Everyone tracks their own time against shared clients, and it all lands in the same columns.
Winged at the heels
Kairos was carved with wings on his feet, because the moment does not wait for you to get back to your desk. Start and stop from your pocket. Entries sync when you’re online again. Included on Pro.
One coin
Basic is $0.99 a month for one person on the web. Pro is $1.99 and adds the iPhone app and up to 5 members. Both are founding prices, locked for life for the first 500 workspaces.
Compare plansHow it works
Every hour is weighed against a rate the moment it is tracked, so the invoice is already written by the time you want it.
I
Set up a client
Add who you bill and a project under them with an hourly rate. Or import your customers from Stripe.
II
Track as you go
Ring the bell: start the timer when you begin, stop it when you’re done. Write a line about what it was.
III
Invoice the unbilled
Pick the entries, build the invoice. Print it, or send it through Stripe with one click. Catch the moment.
Horas non numero nisi serenas
“I count only the sunny hours,” says the sundial. You should count all of them.
